I remember things by the number of letters they have. My favorite books are dictionaries. I avoid the sun altogether. I love maritime vocabulary, calligraphy, and dancing. I hate fountain pens and haircare. My head hurts.

The catholic church was a very influential unit in the medieval times mainly due to that medieval people feared hell and being a Christian stopped you from going to hell when you die. This made the people of Europe obey the churches rules and customs. Also the pope at the time was the one who allowed people to get salvation, which was the entry pass to heaven. This made it influential and essential so people don’t go to hell.

The catholic church provided a stable, unifying set of beliefs for all Christians were bound
To follow. They also helped a lot of people practically, like establishing schools and
Universities, providing care for the poor, and offered legal advice.

The reason why so many Catholics took up the crusade is due to the fact that their holy,
Sacred place was under threat of being harmed. Some other people believed if they
fought, they would enter heaven. Others were looking for wealth, fame or adventure.

The first crusade took place during 1096 – 1099 when Pope Urban II rallied all Christians to help in the invasion. The goal of the crusade was to help defend other Christians in the middle east and to fight off the Turkish invaders

1) Crusaders who were lucky to return home brought new ideas, spices and
New products.
2) New trading opportunities opened, bringing more wealth.

3) Many actions caused feudalism to weaken into a money-based economy.

I think that when the Turks took over Jerusalem the main effect was fear of what they may do next as well as an act of war as the Pope just wants peace in all regions.

If the pope decided to not help Byzantine then I think that Constantinople would’ve be conquered by the Turkish.
