Notes on style: Her writing comes off as very plain, sometimes even annoyingly descriptive at times but occasionally using unique analogies to liken different types of things together. I like her pre-empting of information by setting the scene for your line of questioning through the use of single words or phrases that hint at how the picture will be reconstructed in your head as you read on. It’s very subtle but in that masterful way that assures you it’s done on purpose. (July 9, 2024)
