I hate the new recording of the theme song they started using in Season 2 of Perry Mason. It’s too fast. It sounds weak. It makes me feel rushed. But Perry Mason is that kind of show. I love it very much, but every episode you’re forced to contend with a new web of relationships, scandals, and details in between that none of it has been properly digested by the end.

Something I consistently love, however, is how the beginning of each episode could be an all-new scenario out of an anthology series like Alfred Hitchcock Presents or The Twilight Zone… until Perry Mason shows up out of nowhere and sets things straight. His presence is always very comforting.
